We are sad to announce that Sunflower Days at Exploration Acres has been cancelled this year. Our sunflower field is a complete loss due to an unprecedented lack of rain. Many of the sunflowers failed to germinate and those that did, either burned up from the heat, or failed to grow. We were hopeful that we would receive enough rain for the sunflowers to catch up and postpone opening until September. That did not happen. Let's hope for a better growing season next year.
Sippin' in the Sunflowers, scheduled for August 13th and August 20th at Exploration Acres, has also been cancelled.
Plan a visit with your family or friends to our 10-acre u-pick sunflower maze. Walk 4 miles of sprawling paths and take photos among 24 varieties of beautiful sunflowers. Buckets and pruning shears will be available during your visit, if you want to pick some flowers. Make a bouquet for just $1 per blossom or purchase a French bucket and fill it with flowers for $25. Bag and water your flowers for the trip home at one of our bouquet stations at no additional charge. For your convenience, food and merchandise vendors will be on site while we are open.
